Sale time!
I am loving the Jovonna Feather Maxi Dress teamed with a gorgeous pair of Dyberg/Kern earrings, the Drancine set in Shiney Gold with the matching Lilalia bracelet compliments it well.
Whilst looking through all the amazing Angel Jackson collection i came across the Feather Tote bag with studs and chain detail. The individual design caught my eye, with a mix of boho chic and daytime glamour, this tote combines beautiful long feathers with black leather and a large gold studded section with an exposed chain around the opening.
Be the envy of all your friends and place your order now!

The Duke of Essex Polo...
Aside from that it was lovely to see the TOWIE girls out in force promoting Essex as only they know how!
Our inside source said a great day was had by all! (Although we dont think she actually remembers much at all!)
Autumn/Winter 2011 What's HOT ...
Revolving around the pencil skirt the Forties Glamour includes fur, pearls, gloves and shrugs. Think classic Chanel.
Fashion's palette has moved on from summer's acid brights and paintbox pots of colour into the sumptuous realm of jewel tones for Autumn Winter. Amethyst, sapphire, emerald, ruby and garnet have the power to make you feel sensuous and sophisticated.
The Sixties has always been a favourite era for fashion to draw inspiration from. Fashion has gone back in time leaving the summer of obsession with the 70's and replacing with a fascination with all things 'Mod'. Imagine the doe eyed look of Twiggy and Edie Segdwick and the supreme style of fashion icon Mary Quant.

Fashion goes A-List......
Following Beyonce's fabulous performance at Glastonbury we can't wait for the House of Dereon collection to hit town as it will be launched with a bang at Selfridges in September. Shortly after that it will be found in stores across the UK.
Here at Violet Hill we are currently stocking dresses from the Forever Unique by Alex Gerrard collection. They are absolutely Gorgeous!
Celebrity collections always seem to do well - probably because the A-List star behind them is always in the press!

Glasto and Summer Festivals - What to wear?
So what to choose that means you with be looking hot even if the weathers not?
We have thought hard at MyVioletHill.com and come up with a Glasto/Summer festival "Must Have" list.
No self confessed festival fashionista could be without a cute summer dress - we have chosen the Hedonia Annie Heart Cut Out Dress in Pink as this gorgeous dress is just screaming for open fields with its cute pinky/peach floral print and heart shaped cut out back.

Well thats good if its a hot summers day but what about the cooler evenings?? The Maxi dress is the answer! Here we have chosen the Jovonna Feather Maxi Dress, for its a modern homage to the 1960's Summer festivals dresses. With its gorgeous multi-coloured feather design this maxi is a must have for festival evenings spent dancing into the morning!

So thats the dresses covered - whats about jewellery?
We just could not decide between these two boho inspired bracelets so we decided to show them both!
The first is from a new British designer, Dana Levy. The bracelet is in a subtle orange with gold hamsa hand charm - hopefully the hamsa will protect us from any rain!

The second is a bracelet that is a must for all festivals. A beautiful ChloBo turquoise bead bracelet with contrasting peace sign charm. Very evocative of the Summer or Love festivals in the 60's.

Now to footwear!
No one should go to a festival in the UK without a pair of wellies! (Without them - be prepared for soggy toes!) So as probably your most necessary item why not use them to complete your look. Hunter wellies are always popular but they come at a price - so shop around because there are always cheaper options, and lets face it, when are you next going to wear those Hunters?? Just remember a pair a wellies won't only come in handy in the rain, but they will keep your feet safe and dry when negotiating the festival loos that have been overflowing since the very first day! It does not bear thinking about that situation with open-toes.... We found these gorgeous 'Cupcake' wellies for under £15!!

So thats the outfit and jewellery sorted, what about other essentials? We have make a shortlist of must have items below:
Wet Wipes
- Toilet Paper
- Dry Shampoo
- Lip Balm
- Hand sanitizer
- Anti perspirant

It's the Small Things ......
It's Friday, it's pouring with rain, it's the middle of June and the heating is back on - and we are working on Saturday. Can it get much worse - in one word - no. A delivery driver drips his way through the door and to our great surprise a slightly sodden package of NEW ChloBo Jewellery is deposited on our front Reception Desk. The gloom is lifted and the sun shines once more as we eagerly unwrap the ChloBo parcel.
Not expected until next week we have been teased by the ChloBo team with images and rumours of new pendants.
Oh - and it was such a tease - there is so much more than just new ChloBo pendants and necklace charms - and everything is simply gorgeous. There are new style Mini Noodle Ball bracelets, delicate new Cute Mini bracelets and all our old favourite bracelets have been updated with the new charms.
Click here to view a selection of the new ChloBo range.
The girls in the shop have already placed their orders! We love the ChloBo especially the Medium Ball Disk bracelet with Elephant Charm and the Cute Charm with the Small Buddha Head.

A Spiritual Summer?
The Hamsa Hand is widely seen as a symbol offering protection from evil and misfortune and can be worn with the fingers pointing up or down. It is believed to offer its owner happiness, peace and prosperity as well as protection from the evil eye! With a celebrity interest in Kabbalah and mystical Judaism the Hamsa hand has truly come back into vogue and features heavily in the current collection from Dana Levy and the new mini collection from ChloBo.
The Dove also has its roots embedded in religious symbolism and has long been admired as a symbol of peace and a messenger of deep symbolic love. This summer the symbol of the Dove can be found in ranges from Karin Ravelli and Dana Levy. The Dove has been updated to the more modern Peace sign as used in the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in the 80's ChloBo's recent best selling Summer Love collection showcased this to great effect with the capsule collection being a triumphant success.
The Evil Eye - the name alone leads many to believe the charm itself is evil. Not so - the evil eye protects and is a Luck Charm believed to reflect evil and protect the wearer from misfortune and bad things being willed onto you by others.
If someone "gives you the evil eye", they are effectively cursing you with a look. The Evil Eye is used to guard against malevolent thoughts and subconscious wishes for bad luck that can be transferred through the eyes. If your Evil Eye were to break or crack it would be thought to have done its job and it would be necessary to replace it. The ChloBo Evil Eye bracelets have been made with the traditional cobalt blue colour but the Dana Levy range includes eyes surrounded by different colours which offer additional protection of a more specific nature, such as green for happiness and turquoise for health.
A final word of advice – carry an evil eye with you at all times - if you don’t appreciate being given the evil eye you should refrain from giving it to others!
In a world of turmoil the jewellery above could bring a little peace, love, tranquility and protection into your life. Try it and see!

Festival Chic
Be it Vfest, Glasto, or Reading & Leeds (to name but a few) the summer festival has acquired a name for itself. Moving away from that “boho” status, today’s festival is dubbed a fashion catwalk in its own right. You only have to look at Kate Moss donning her Hunter Wellies in 2006 to see that the festival look has taken a complete U-turn since.
So what’s a girl to do? The conundrum stands that you need to look stylish but effortless and practical but cool. So, in light of this I’ve put together my top festival tips:
1. Hats. Gone is the chance to straighten your hair and spend hours in front of the mirror. A nightmare, unless you come armed with a hat or accessory which will shade your locks come day 2. Braided Siren Sun Hat
2. Shoes. No sky heels girls, actually no heels at all. Flats are the way to go, whether it is some pretty flip flops or a stylish wellie. Havaiana Issa in Black
3. Wrap up. You know the British weather can be unpredictable. A small cover up is perfect as it fits in your bag, but equally looks stylish. Darling Libby Cardigan in Taupe
4. Bags. The festival essential. You need something of decent proportion but something that equally shouts ‘laid back'. Lupo Abanico Masai Stitch Pleated Handbag in Brown
5. Funky Jewellery. You might need some colourful jewellery to draw attention away from those muddy wellies! ChloBo Summer Love 15 mm Red Bead Bracelet with Peace Sign
So there you have it, my festival style tips! And as for those little extras, don’t forget your hand sanitiser, pocket tissues, sunblock and shades. Oh yes, and your mobile phone charger…most festivals now have emergency charge up booths, so you can always stay in touch with your festival party!
Enjoy!

Ascot - What's a Gal to do?
BUT one occasion where I’ve breathed one big sigh of relief for this year is Ladies Day at Ascot.
Admittedly, last year it put me into a spin. I spent weeks, actually months scouring the high street for that ‘perfect dress’. As let’s face this is one day where you have to look preened, polished and perfect! From the dress, to the shoes to that ever important hat, this is one occasion you cannot afford to get wrong.
So, learning from experience I have defined my key ‘Ascot Dress Criteria’:
1. Don’t go for ‘that’ short dress – its unsophisticated, un-classy and will ‘undo’ your day before it has started as the officials won’t stand for it! Go for something around the knee: Forever Unique Susie Dress
2. Simple jewellery – “bling isn’t the optimum word here. Think Kate Middleton not Katie Price and you will be bang on trend and look elegant: ChloBo Small Ball Bracelet with Dream Ball Charm
3. Have something that will take the chill off – of course the weather WILL be fabulous, but you never know…just in case: Darling Lillian Cardigan in Taupe
4. Avoid sky high heels – they will pitch you to the grass, and I can almost guarantee you won’t last the day in them. Try something like this: Beyond Skin Stella Heel in Red Suede
I’ll close with saying…enjoy! It’s one of those occasions were you can’t help but get swept up in the ‘hoi paloi’ and what is one of those great British catwalk occasions!
